**READ ENTIRE BIO** My name is Niko, and I'm a young chap at only 10months old. I'm a corgi/doxie/papillon mix that's learning the ropes of a new life. My previous family closed me in a box and threw me from a moving car. I was crying, scared, and trying to get out. A Good Samaritan found me, got me to safety where I was cared for, and now here I am! I'm alive, safe, and looking for a loving furever home that won't throw me away like garbage! I love to cuddle, play with toys, and play with dogs! Do you like giving belly rubs? I love receiving them! I've never met a cat friend so I don't know how I am with them in a household. When meeting ... (Read More)new people, I'm a little shy but warm up quickly. If you let me sit in your lap, we'll be best friends. I enjoy plush toys, bones, playing fetch, and rolling around on the grass. I'm housetrained, crate trained, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. I still have a lot of things to learn so I need a home that will take me to doggy school and show me around town so I can meet other dogs and people to become a well socialized, confident pup. Will you be my furever best friend so we can walk this thing called life, together? Don't forget, my name is Niko!! Submit an application at www.queensbeststumpydogrescue.org (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-04-04-00054Rotti (male)

Corgi    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Rotti's a 5yr old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. He's active, lovable, and has a lot to say about rescue dogs like him. He's a special needs corgi with one of the most lively personalities you'll meet. Although he has Intervertebral Disc Disease, he's an amazing corgi with a spirit that'll put a smile on your face! Minor adjustments like use of belly bands and helping him in and out of his cart is able to give Rotti a sense of independence and quality of life. He loves to go on walks, hikes, even runs on the beach! He had spinal surgery over a year ago, completed water therapy, and continues to keep his muscles active through the use of his cart, ... (Read More)which supports and stabilizes his back end. He doesn't have full use of his bladder but he has gained some control back, which is rarely seen in IVDD dogs! Try telling him he's different and he'll bark in your face, telling you otherwise. Ask yourself, if your dog ended up with this condition, what would you do? Give them up? Work things out? If your answer was work it out, Rotti would be giving you kisses right now! Unfortunately, his family didn't think that and his breeder wanted nothing to do with him, which is how he ended up with QBSDR-his luck WILL change this time around! Rotti gets along with dogs, cats, children, and would make a great companion to a special individual or family. He's one of the most social, friendly, happy, and well-adjusted low-riders you'll ever meet. He needs a compassionate and responsible home that will be able to monitor his intake of food and water, making sure he's getting plenty of liquids to keep his pH levels normal and help him with his daily stretches. He requires a urinalysis every few months and the same basic vet care any other dog needs. Rotti is an inspiring example of perseverance. Although others view him as disabled, he doesn't think or know he is-he doesn't feel sorry for himself, he just lives. He takes every day in stride, showing the world that he's a capable corgi. He may need help with going to the restroom and getting in and out of his ride, but who doesn't need a hand every once in a while? Rotti shows his affection to his foster family everyday for believing in him. His gratitude is life changing. Rotti would be awesome with someone that works from home or in a dog friendly office. Maybe you have wheels of your own? Rotti would love to be your companion on a stroll. Rotti is currently being fostered in the San Francisco Bay Area. All QBSDR dogs are up to date on vaccinations, spay/neutered, microchipped, and require application, homecheck, and adoption contract. Submit an application for consideration at www.queensbeststumpydogrescue.org or donate towards dogs like him. Adoption open to all of CA and neighboring states. *QBSDR does not ship dogs* (Less)
